Become a Trustee

Have you got the commitment and desire to work with us to help our learners ‘achieve success together’?  If so, we want to hear from you.

We are actively seeking individuals from our local community to become trustees who are passionate about helping us continue shaping our trust for the betterment of our learners and staff. We are looking for individuals who wholeheartedly embrace our trust’s vision and values, bring diverse backgrounds and experiences, and are excited about contributing to a dynamic multi-academy trust.

In our pursuit of a diverse board, we are particularly interested in individuals with skills and experience in scrutinizing and challenging operations, those with HR/Personnel expertise, and those with prior educational experience. However, we are open to conversations with anyone interested in joining our family of local schools.

Are you considering your first appointment as a trustee? You will play a crucial role in shaping and guiding our future strategy and development. Rest assured, we offer comprehensive training, and we highly value the personal skills and experiences you bring to the role.

Above all, your commitment to driving improvements for the betterment of our learners, staff, volunteers, and the broader community is what matters most, ultimately leading to improved outcomes for the children under our trust.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us using the contact information below.

Become a Governor

South Downs Learning Trust has a number of governor vacancies across our family of local schools, for further information contact us below.

If you are looking for a rewarding opportunity to become involved in your local community and have a passion for making a difference to the lives of local children, then we would love to hear from you.

We’re looking for people with a commitment to the education sector who are available to attend meetings periodically throughout the year to work with the academies within our trust. Governors perform an important strategic role, playing a pivotal role in monitoring the performance of the school, making leaders accountable and ensuring safeguarding is robust and helping to develop and sustain meaningful relationships with the community.

We can offer you full support across our trust executive team, which includes a Head of Governance who is available to respond to any queries and concerns that you may have at any time. We will provide governor training in order to support you within the governance role.

At South Downs Learning Trust, we provide a diverse array of school improvement services, one of which is our Governor Course workshop and guidance for Ofsted preparation. For comprehensive information on how SDLT can assist you, please click on ‘Contact Us’ below.
