South Downs Learning Trust (SDLT) is a registered charity committed to providing good and outstanding education for children and young people. We strive to ensure that all our learners have access to the highest standards of teaching, resources, and opportunities. The trust’s role is to oversee the leadership and vision of member academies and to foster effective and supportive partnerships between them.
We have a strong focus on school improvement and the targeted provision of practical support. Together, we utilize a cooperative, participative, and supportive framework to deliver enhanced outcomes. Our family of schools serves their local communities and has its own individual and unique identity. The trust values the healthy diversity within our schools and encourages our members to further develop their distinctive culture, ethos, and character.
Our local schools within the trust aspire to excellence and place success, achievement, and high aspirations at their core. We promote independence, celebrate achievement, and maintain a keen focus on our trust values, with our learners at the centre of all our objectives. Our moral purpose is to make a positive difference in the lives of young people.
We have a clear strategy for school improvement that has proven to be credible, inclusive, and sustainable. We are committed to ensuring that every pupil and staff member receives the support they need to reach their full potential. Our education team includes internal expertise and highly experienced and qualified consultants, including Ofsted team members and lead inspectors, local education leaders, and specialist leaders in education, as well as governance experts. They assist our school leaders in planning, monitoring, and evaluating impact, leading to ongoing success.
As the Executive Headteacher, I take enormous pride in all our schools and in the leaders, governors, teachers, and support staff who work tirelessly to ensure our learners make good progress in their education every day. We have engaged in extensive consultations to inform our thinking, and SDLT’s Strategic Plan confirms our aims and vision. I eagerly anticipate continuing my work with the South Downs Learning Trust to ensure that we continue to “Achieve Success Together.”
